So, Charlie and Conner are out of the band, huh? Yeah, the news shocked me as much as I'm sure it shocked the rest of you. I wish there was more I could say on the matter myself, but I'm just glad that things seem to have ended cordially between the band members. So, join me in taking this time to remember all of the great stuff the both of them contributed to the band.

I think it's easy to say that their contributions to Fauna were some of their greatest. "Elephants Never Forget" was perhaps Charlie's own little Haken swansong, and a song that Fauna wouldn't be quite as incredible as it is without.

Of course, Conner also made his songwriting debut on Fauna with "Beneath the White Rainbow", an eclectic but lovely piece that, combined with Ross' megaphone, was perhaps one of the highlights of the Evening With... tour.

I can only hope we get to see these talented musicians in the future, whether on a future Tiktaalika project, or something entirely new.

Heya folks! It's been a quiet last 10 or so months, and I apologise for my absence. But, I've got something pretty damn big for everybody! As some of you may be very well aware, Haken embarked on the European leg of their An Evening With HAKEN tour, with a headline show at the very end in London. I was lucky enough to get to go to that show, and the band myself!

But more importantly than that, a good friend of mine over in Germany was able to ask Richard Henshall a handful of very fan-oriented questions. They were lovely enough to transcribe it all for everybody's viewing pleasure, and has given me the full seal of approval to post this here.

So, in a sense, our little site has its very own, official, exclusive interview with a member of Haken! It's pretty damn meaty, and has a lot of cool info that wasn't publicly available before.

You can view it here, or find the link on the sidebar.

Ahh, the ol' Haken post-release period really hits ya, huh? I've certainly got my money's worth out of Fauna over the past few months, and it's not lost its charm at all since! In the mean time, Ross and his Spock's Beard buddies released a follow-up to 2022's Troika, titled Sophomore!

Having listened to it for the first time on a hectic series of trains home from Newcastle on release date, it was a nice vibe but little more than that. Maybe it'll grow on me? Who knows.

After three years of waiting, Fauna is finally out! I'll say, I was nervous of where the band was going to go next after Virus, but I'm pleased to say that Fauna exceeded all of my expectations! It's everything I could've wanted from post-Virus Haken, and so much more! Hopefully you think the same too.

I'm looking forward to seeing them in Manchester and London at the end of this month! Perhaps some "Mountview on the Road" pictures will come of it! :o

So, Fauna was announced yesterday. I must say, the album's artwork definitely caught me off guard. It looks more like something we'd see from Dream Theater or The Dear Hunter than a band like Haken. Regardless! I'm super excited to the new single, as well as the rest of the album!

Also, happy (belated) birthday to A Shadow of My Future Self ! It's an absolutely stellar album and still one of my favourite albums of the decade? Is it my #1 for the decade? I don't think I can say for sure...

Nightingale is out!! While we still don't have a proper unveiling of the new album yet, the song offers an amazing look into the future of the band and shows that they're definitely not past their peak. The first half of the song is absolutely divine, easily the best they've sounded since Affinity.

Lets hope the next single (and the rest of the album) is just as good, if not better!

We successfully got Haken represented on r/Place! For those of you unaware, r/Place is a legendary event held by Reddit originally in 2017, then again this year. Our community managed to get the band's original logo on the canvas, as well as artwork from Affinity, Vector and Virus. I'm so proud of our little community, as well as our friends in the Dream Theater community who stood beside us to the bitter end.

You can read about our adventures in representing the Haken community here!

Well, the main page is alive and well and honestly I'm very happy with the results. Hopefully soon I'll be able to write about the band's upcoming single "Nightingale." In fact, I'll have a lot of exciting stuff to write about soon too. New Haken, possibly new Ross Jennings and Richard Henshall albums coming soon, Diego Tejeida's solo project, the works! It really is an exciting time to be a Haken fan!
