"Lovebite" is a song by British progressive metal band Haken. It was the fourth single released for the band's 2023 album Fauna.
The single was announced via a short Valentine's Day-themed skit starring Conner Green.
Basis
The song is inspired by the Black Widow Spider, a type of spider that devours its mating partner after mating. The song likely uses this as an analogy for infidelity and dysfunctionality
in relationships.
Production
The song began production with the opening section of the song, with the intention of the song's verses following from that. The song's style would swing back and forth during production
between the style of the opening riff and a more 80s style, remeniscent of the 80s rock band Toto.
