Charlie Griffiths

Charles David Griffiths is a British progressive metal guitarist, most known for being a guitarist in Haken.

Griffiths was born in London, UK in November 1975.

Music

Anchorhead

Anchorhead were a Star Wars themed metal band formed in 2006 by Griffiths, along with Pete Rinaldi and Jeff Moffat. According to Griffiths, "'Anchorhead' started out as an exercise in transcribing John Williams music and ended up as a 'Death Metal Opera' retelling of the Star wars Trilogy". The band has been on hiatus since 2008.

Linear Sphere

Linear Sphere are a progressive metal band formed by Griffiths, along with Jos Geron, Martin Goulding and Nick Lowczowski. The band self-released their first album Reality Dysfunction in 2004. Griffiths would leave the band in 2007, citing creative differences.

Haken

Griffiths was invited to join Haken after the departure of founding member Matthew Marshall. Griffiths would join the band in writing and recording Aquarius in 2010 and has played in every release since.

Solo Projects

In 2021, Griffiths revealed on his Instagram that he was working on a solo album of his own, occasionally uploading riffs from the album to his page. On 6 April 2022, he revealed the name of his solo album to be Tiktaalika. The album's first single, "Arctic Cemetary", was released that Friday on 8 April featuring guest vocalist Thomas Giles, vocalist of American progressive metal band Between the Buried and Me.
