Acoustic Shadows - Live at AfterLive Music is the first live album by British singer-songwriter Ross Jennings. It was released on 28 January 2021 through Graphite Records.
The album was initially surprise dropped on Jennings' merch store before receiving a release on streaming services a few days later.
Basis
The album is a recording of the Acoustic Shadows paid livestream Jennings hosted in July 2021. While containing mostly covers of songs from Jennings' 2021 album
A Shadow of My Future Self, the album also contains a cover of "Canary Yellow" from
Haken's 2020 album Virus, featuring Richard Henshall, as well as "Sail Away", a song from Novena's 2020 album Eleventh Hour,
and "She Loves You More", a track Jennings had written that was featured on Redados' 2010 album Too Tired for Sleep.
An Acoustic Shadows tour was scheduled to coincide with the albums launch but was cancelled due to financial woes and the COVID-19 pandemic. The tour was planned to include songs not played during the Acoustic Shadows livestream.
These songs were "The Mind's Eye" and "Deathless," from Haken's 2010 album Visions, "Sun Dance" and "Disconnected," from Novena's 2020 album Eleventh Hour, as well as Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" and Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill".

Quotes
"Despite my history, I rarely regard myself as a metal singer, so I was in desperate need to scratch a long time itch and make a record that appeals to the broader spectrum of my musical palette.
With 'A Shadow of My Future Self', I unashamedly wear my influences on my sleeve but this is the kind of music I always imagined I'd be making before I took the path less travelled into prog metal...
Needless to say, this is somewhat more accessible and radio friendly stuff!"
